Artist's Mother and Father Together

Now hanging side by side on the walls of the beautiful Tweed River Art Gallery at Murwillumbah NSW, are two portraits very special to Josonia Palaitis.  Her portrait 'The Artist's Mother' has recently been acquired by this prestigious gallery for the permanent collection.  It joins 'John Mills', the portrait of her father, which is in the collection as a result of having won the Doug Moran Portrait Prize in 1994. 

Both portraits can be seen together over the coming months.

'The Artist's Mother' was highly commended in the 2002 Doug Moran Portrait Prize.  (see earlier News item - June 2002)
